Clashes with WBC welterweight champ Andre Berto. Berto represented Haiti in the 2004 Olympics and captured his first world title last year after Floyd Mayweather Jr retired leaving the title vacant.
Saturday’s contest will be live on HBO’s Boxing after Dark and will take place on the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL.
The championship bout comes with great interest to South Florida as the Hollywood resident Urango looks to blemish the Miami born Berto’s (24 – 0 19 KO’s) undefeated streak while stripping him of his prized possession.
The under card for Saturday’s championship bout promises to be a good one as well as the boxing war between Puerto Rico and Mexico continues with yet another battle. This time it’s the hard hitting Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo taking on former champ Kermit Cintron.
Mexico’s Angulo is looking to improve to 16 – 0 and is currently on a knockout streak of 11 straight bout’s. Meanwhile Cintron is 1-1-1 in his last three fights, the loss a sixth round body shot that left the Puerto Rican out for the count at the hands of Antonio Margarito.
