- I have been a boxing fan since the 70's when Ruben Olivares and "Mantequilla" Napoles were World Champions.
I used to watch them fight at the Forum.
In Tijuana, at the "Arena Tijuana 72" I watched the beginning of the careers of such greats as: Carlos Zarate, Alfonso Zamora, "Jibaro" Perez, my great friend Manuel "Mantecas" Medina and "Dinamita" Estrada. They all went on to become World Champions.
Tijuana has produced many World Champions like Erik Morales, Antonio Margarito, Maikito Martinez, Lupe Aquino, Dinamita Estrada, Jibaro Perez, "Gallito" Quirino, Victor Burgos, Jackie Nava, Alex "Terra" Garcia, my great friend Manuel Medina and others that have made their careers in Tijuana, like Julio Cesar Chavez, "Yory Boy" Campas, Humberto "Zorrita" Soto, Jorge "Travieso" Arce, Jorge "Maromero" Paez, etc.
I collect boxing memorabilia and I also am a fight booking agent with boxers from Mexico City, Culiacan, Tijuana, Ensenada, etc.
I'm doing it for the love of the sport and to help boxers make a decent living.
